Red and Zumba: Two of the things I love
I chanced upon this advertisement first on the newspaper. "Keep Calm and Go Red", it said. Red caught my attention being my favorite color. Then there's the Zumbathon event where women are invited to join in an afternoon of keeping fit while having fun. So what's this about and where do I sign?

Go for Red Women Roadshow 2015 Keep Calm and Go Red is a program by Singapore Heart Foundation. It aims to empower women to take charge of their health by holding events which create heart health awareness. There will be blood pressure and atrial fibrillation screenings during the roadshow. There will also be women's health information and quizzes, tribute contest gallery, and lucky draw prizes and goodie bags. It's good to be in the know.

According to the ad, "heart disease and stroke combined, is one of the top 2 killers of women in Singapore". Scary isn't it? But we can do something about it, now. Spread the word and inform all the women you know of this event. Visit the Singapore Heart Foundation website for more info (

If the info above isn't compelling enough, then just go for the sake of having fun. You'll be benefiting from it. You know you will.

As for me, it had me at Red and Zumbathon, two words I can totally relate to. I've missed going to zumba classes and have only been doing it at home from time to time following Youtube videos. It will be a more enjoyable experience to be around other women who are into dancing, exercising and keeping fit. The bigger the crowd, the higher the energy, the more calories we can all burn!
