Biking in Singapore

We started biking a couple of years ago. We bought our son a bike when he was 8 years old. Then we bought 2 more bikes for ourselves (hubby and me, plus baby seat for our younger son).

For our son to learn faster, we used to bike around after dinner. It served as family time and a form of exercise for us. Within a month, our son learned to ride the bike without balancer. At first he was a bit hesitant to remove the balancers. But he realized that he could go faster if they were removed.

We initially just biked at the playground. Then to Punggol Park. We went further down the road to Punggol End and Punggol Marina. It was a bit dangerous because there are some cars on the road but we made sure we take the side roads as often as possible.
Now he has almost outgrown his bike. It's probably time to buy a bigger one with gears so he won't have a hard time riding the bike on uphills. But because of some concerns raised by the government on bikers not allowed on the sidewalks/pavements, it would be quite dangerous for us to always ride on the main road together with speeding cars.

We can't wait for the park connectors to be finished so we could ride from our place to Punggol End with ease. Or probably until Tampines and other parts of Singapore once the work is done.
